Mocha Oat Meal Shake

A thick breakfast shake with a caffeine boost, built on oats and cold coffee.

Mocha Oat Meal Shake

This works as breakfast and coffee in one glass. Oats and banana carry the carbohydrate, almond butter supplies fat, and the coffee gives the caffeine. Brew the coffee ahead so it is cold when you blend.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving.

  • 1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder (about 30 g)
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, chilled
  • ½ cup 2% milk
  • ⅓ cup rolled oats
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • ½ tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Method

  1. Add the oats, coffee, and milk to the blender and let them soften for three minutes.
  2. Add the protein powder, banana, almond butter, and cocoa.
  3. Blend until smooth, about 60 seconds.
  4. Add ice if you want it colder.
