Cold brew coffee is less acidic than hot coffee, which suits protein powder. Oat milk adds natural sweetness. A date supplies a little more sweetness and some body, so the shake holds together.
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving.
- 1 scoop vanilla plant protein powder (pea/rice blend, about 32 g)
- ¾ cup strong brewed coffee, chilled
- ¾ cup oat milk
- 1 Medjool date, pitted
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- 5 ice cubes
Method
- Pit the date and blend it with the oat milk for 30 seconds.
- Add the cold brew, protein powder, cinnamon, and ice.
- Blend until smooth, about 40 seconds.
- Pour over fresh ice if you want it extra cold.

Swaps and variations
- Add a pinch of cardamom for a spiced version.
- Use chocolate plant protein for a mocha version.
