Cookie dough flavor comes from brown sugar, butter, and vanilla, with a trace of salt. Almond butter stands in for the butter, and a small amount of brown sugar does the sweetening. Chocolate chips go in at the end, so they stay whole.
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving.
- 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (about 30 g)
- ¾ cup 2% milk
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tbsp semisweet chocolate chips
- 3 ice cubes
Method
- Add the milk, protein powder, almond butter, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, and ice to the blender.
- Blend until thick and smooth, about 40 seconds.
- Add the chocolate chips and pulse twice.
- Spoon into a glass and eat with a spoon, if the shake is very thick.

Tips
- Do not skip the salt. It is what makes this taste like dough.
- Pulse the chips in last. Longer blending turns them into specks.
Swaps and variations
- Use peanut butter for a peanut butter cookie dough version.
- Use dairy-free chips and plant protein for a vegan shake.
