Watermelon is mostly water, so the slush stays light. Freeze the cubes the night before and the blender does the rest. This is more of a thirst-quencher than a meal.
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving.
- 1 scoop strawberry whey protein powder (about 30 g)
- 1 ½ cups seedless watermelon, cubed
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp fresh mint leaves
- 4 ice cubes
Method
- Freeze the watermelon cubes on a tray, then transfer them to a bag. Two hours is enough.
- Add the frozen watermelon, lime juice, mint, and protein powder to the blender.
- Add the ice and blend for 45 seconds, scraping down the sides once.
- Serve right away, since the slush melts quickly.

Tips
- A spoon is helpful. The slush is thick enough to need one.
- Add a spoonful of water to the blender if the blades stall.
Swaps and variations
- Use unflavored whey and a few strawberries for a different flavor.
- Add a pinch of salt. It makes watermelon taste sweeter.
