A mocha is just coffee with chocolate. Chocolate whey and cocoa give it the flavor, and cold coffee in place of milk keeps the calories moderate. The result is something between a coffee shop mocha and a chocolate shake.
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving.
- 1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder (about 30 g)
- ¾ cup strong brewed coffee, chilled
- ½ cup 2% milk
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

- 4 ice cubes

- Coffee ice cubes keep the shake strong as they melt. Freeze leftover coffee in a tray.
- Skip the banana and add an extra ice cube if you want a lower-sugar version.
Swaps and variations
- Add a drop of peppermint extract for a peppermint mocha.
- Top with whipped cream if you want a dessert version.
