A mocha is espresso and hot chocolate in one cup. Casein protein holds up under heat, so it makes a rich, creamy version. Make the paste first, as the other warm recipes here do.
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving.
- 1 scoop chocolate casein protein powder (about 33 g)
- 1 cup 2% milk
- 2 shots espresso
- ½ tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
Method
- Whisk the casein and cocoa with a quarter cup of cold milk until it forms a smooth paste.
- Heat the remaining milk until steaming, around 150°F (65°C).
- Pour the hot milk into the paste slowly, whisking.
- Add the espresso and maple syrup and stir.
