Almond Butter Cherry Shake

Frozen cherries and almond butter give this shake the flavor of cherry almond pie, with a little tartness.

Almond Butter Cherry Shake

Cherry and almond is a combination that shows up in a lot of desserts. The frozen cherries make the shake cold and thick without added ice. A drop of almond extract is worth including because it strengthens the almond flavor.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving.

  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (about 30 g)
  • 1 ¼ cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • ¾ cup frozen dark sweet cherries
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • ¼ tsp almond extract
  • 2 ice cubes

Method

  1. Add the almond milk, almond butter, and protein powder to the blender.
  2. Add the frozen cherries, almond extract, and ice.
  3. Blend on high for about a minute, because frozen cherries take longer to break down.
  4. Serve cold with a few chopped almonds on top, if you like.

Tips
